Tree

I am a tree.
The harsh wind blows
And sweeps away my leaves and breaks my branches.
Gone are the fruits of my labor, and yet still,
I am a tree.

I am a tree.
The bitter air traps all life
Deep, deep, inside of me,
But I have hope because there IS still life, and,
I am a tree.

I am a tree.
From wells I can not describe spring
Forth new life and hope, and joy,
And now I can breathe.
I am a tree.

I am a tree.
Sunshine and blessings of new strong branches
Fill my heart with joy.
Despite the promise of more winters,
I can see the growth, therefore,
I am a tree.

*I don't claim to be a poet, but I thought I would record the thoughts that have been going through my head during this new trying period of our lives. Despite the pain, sorrow, disappointment, and anxiety, I know that the Lord is in control, and that I will learn and grow through this experience.*

James 1:2-3
"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you face trials and temptations, because the testing of your faith develops perseverance."
